Showboat Lies and Screws You Over - Then Claims You Are Lying
We booked two premium comp rooms for one night. We got there and checked in not a word was said and when we got to the room we found that we were given deluxe rooms. When I called the front desk to ask they stated there were no premium rooms available and the rooms we were given is where we have to stay. I stated that I would have expected the person at the desk to at least tell us the room we reserved was not available instead of just giving us our keys and hoping we didn't notice. When I said that I was rudely told I have two options - keep the rooms we are in or we can leave!!! Also, upon check-in we were told we had unlimited food comps for the entire stay. There were 4 of us standing at the desk and we clarified if that meant all of us - they stated yes, everyone in those two rooms had unlimited food comps. Well we went to lunch at the buffet and dinner at the Mansion Cafe - which both are a little pricey - but we had food comps so we went for it. That night we checked our accounts on the TV and we had over $100 charged to the accounts for food. When I called the front desk I was told we had limited comps and it was at their discretion what they covered. I explained this is not what we were told when we checked in and they replied yes it was. After two phone calls and some waiting time I finally talked to the rudest supervisor they have (hopefully they don't have any worse!!!) She told me they only offer limited comps and what was covered is all they are willing to cover. When I tried to explain that we were told differently I recieved - "well that is your story, but that is not what you were told". I also explained that we were there a few weeks ago and our food was covered 100% - again she said that is not possible and "that is your story - but that wouldn't have happened". In other words calling me a liar. I was never charged anything that first time - and I know that because it was my credit card linked to the account and I didn't receive any bill except for the $13 in fees to book the room. Then to top things off she suggested that everyone go down and gamble awhile then go to the front desk to see if they can take any of the food bill away. DID THOSE IDIOTS THINK THEY WERE GETTING ANY MORE MONEY OUT OF ME??? Not to mention that my sister put down higher than average tips since (so we thought) we weren't paying for the meals. I even e-mail Harrah's thinking maybe they would be interested to know how bad their employees treat people and they only responded with the definition of how the limited food comps works - they obviously didn't believe we were told otherwise either. Well, Harrah's just lost several loyal customers. We visited different casinos of theirs several times a year and we almost always lost our money - so I guess they don't need it. Beware of Harrah's casinos and spend you money somewhere that appreciates you as a customer!!!
Very Unsatisified Customer!!!!

Oh the humanity!
The beds were cool but there was a bad odor all throughout the halls and something sticky on our carpet. Didn't win on the slots and was harassed by a guy in the lobby trying to sell me a timeshare.
The water pressure in the shower was likened to a spitting fountain - not to mention it was made for people 5'0 and under.
The cleaning lady busted in the door two hours before checkout (while I was getting dressed).
Asked baggage to hold the bags only to walk out of the casino four hours later and find that our bags had been sitting there unattended the entire time.
Paid to have my car parked in valet only to have it returned to me, ransacked with an ipod and money missing. It was change, but still $25 none-the-less.
To top it all off, the valet manager wouldn't answer any questions about how it could have happened when the car was parked in an underground garage... and they say they're committed to their customers! HA! What a joke! I'm not saying don't go, I'm just saying BE CAREFUL... especially with valet!

Bottom of the Barrel
Look, if it were the only one in town, I could see people putting up with a place like this from time to time. But its in the heart of Atlantic City, where you have several casinos and hotels to choose from, why would you settle for this second rate dive? The food is mediocre-to-bad; the rooms are on par with a Red Roof Inn; the gaming action is pretty weak in general with far fewer options than other nearby spots.
But most importantly, because everyone knows it's the bottom of the barrel for AC, they only get the least qualified people working there. The poker dealers don't know all the rules, which seem to change from one floor manager to the next. The dealers at all card games are on average pretty slow, and if the automatic shuffler breaks, some can't even manage a basic riffle of the deck. Customer service is like going to the DMV. They get to you when they get to you, or sometimes feed you an answer they think you want to hear even if it's not true. Like the time my friends asked if anyplace was serving breakfast yet at 6:00 AM -- the lady at the counter said "oh yeah, mm-hmm, right now." When they came back after finding out that wasn't true, she told them she was going on break, and she'd be with them in 15 minutes if they wanted to wait; then she walked off and left the counter unattended. One time someone hit my car in their parking garage. They told me they would review the tapes to see if they could see who did it. I am still waiting to this day to hear what they found.
But my friends and I recently stopped going there at all when, in the poker room two people threatened to attack one member of our group who is gay, saying "I'd like to kick your f----g f----t teeth in." When the floor was called, the he gave a warning to our gay member not to antagonize people and issued no warning to the people making the threats. That's the kind of protection and attitude you get at a dump like Showboat.

GOOD TIME at Showboat !
Saw a great concert at The House of Blues ( Chris Isaak, The best show you'll see ) and had a really good meal there until a bug crawled across the table but STILL had a good time at The Showboat. I'd go back !

A number of us took a bus tour through Mike Mullen at Harrah's Marketing Services. We were led to believe the package was $100 for the bus and two nights at the Showboat Casino.
Upon arrival, we were issued comp cards which we assumed worked like any other casino. After piling up a significant number of credits over two days, I ( and some others) went to convert them to more play or food comps. After standing in line for over an hour, we were told that the credits earned were applied to reducing the hotel cost. It should be noted that the woman at the counter was EXTREMELY RUDE in notifying me of this policy. We were never informed about this comp assignment policy, as I had already assigned the package payment to my credit card. The real shocker came when we went to check-out and received a bill in excess of the agreed package total.
The baggage transfer was totally bungled causing delays in departure.
Any attempts to rectify these complaints have gone unheeded. I would urge people to be wary of any tours or specials associated with this marketing group and hotel.

What a great place! My room in the main tower was fantastic - huge, clean, nicely decorated and a great view of the ocean. And not too expensive!! The casino was also great....I always seem to win here. The staff was also nice and friendly. Good job Showboat! I'll definitely be back!!

Not the best, not the worst...just the most fun. I always win here...great staff...fun dealers. Rooms are great, ask for an oceanview, it's worth the extra $$ if you love looking at the water. Good location, even in the case of rain, you are connected by indoor walkways to both Resorts and The Taj...so you have three casinos joined without ever having to go outside and getting wet.
